Ahilya Sthan is one of the most famous ancient temples in Darbhanga. This temple is located in Jale block at distance of 3 km from Kamtaul Railway Station. Ahilya Sthan is especially dedicated to Ahilya, wife of Gautam Rishi. A legend related to Devi Ahilya is too mentioned in the most famous Indian epic, Ramayana. Thus, this place is also known as Ahilya Gram and fairs are held here on special occasions such as Ramnavami and Vivah Panchami.

Kankali Temple

Kankali temple is located 2 kms far from Darbhanga railway station. It was built by Maharaj of Darbhanga in the premises of Darbhanga fort. This temple is much popular among locals of this city who worship Goddess Shakti with lot of devotion.

Kusheshwarasthan Bird Sanctuary

Kusheshwarasthan Bird Sanctuary in DarbhangaOne of the most beautiful tourist spots in Darbhanga is Kusheshwarasthan Bird Sanctuary which is home to many rare and endangered species of birds. It is also the favorite stay for migratory birds which fly down here every year during November to March. Located about 45 km east of Darbhanga town in Kusheshwarasthan block (Biraul Sub-division), Kusheshwarasthan Bird Sanctuary is most popular among wildlife lovers.

Mahinam-Mahadeo-Sthan

Mahinam-Mahadeo-Sthan is another popular temple in Darbhanga district. It is located approx. 5 kms far from Darbhanga- Biraul pucca road. This temple is specially dedicated to Lord Shiva and devotees from far and wide come to offer their prayers here. On Kartik and Maghi Purnima, large fairs are held here annually which are the major sources of amusement for visitors.

Maharaja Laxmiswar Singh Museum

Maharaja Laxmiswar Singh Museum is the perfect place to visit for history lovers and all those who want to know more about Darbhanga Raj and royal family. It is located near Darbhanga Railway Station on eastern bank of Mansarover Lake. Maharaja Laxmiswar Singh Museum houses unique artifacts and precious items which were gifted by Prince Subheshwar Singh for establishment of this museum. This museum was established on 16th September 1977. There is no entry fee to visit this museum and it is everyday open for visitors except Monday.

Chandradhari Museum

Darbhanga tourismSituated on the North bank of Mansarover Lake in Darbhanga, Chandradhari Singh Museum was established on 7th December, 1957. It houses rare artifacts and objects which are great sources of knowledge and information about history and culture of this region. This museum is named after Late Chandradhari Singh of Ranti Dyordhi (Madhubani) who donated all these artifacts for establishment of the museum. There are eleven galleries in this museum, divided as per specific arrangement of objects and artifacts. Chandradhari Museum remains open every day except Monday and there is no entry fee for visitors.

Brahmpur

Brahmpur is an old village in Jale block of Darbhanga district which is far famed for Gautam Kund and temple of Gautam Rishi. Located about 8 kms from Kamtaul, Brahmpur village is rail head in Jale block. There is a famous Khadi Gramodyog Centre and a Khadi store which are the perfect shopping spots for visitors in this village.
